Industry Support Section

The main duties of the Industry Support Section of CreateHK include:

To administer the CreateSmart Initiative (CSI) which provides financial support to initiatives that are conducive to the development and promotion of the creative industries*;
-
To provide secretariat support to the CSI Vetting Committee which assesses applications received by CSI, makes recommendations to the Permanent Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development (Communications and Creative Industries) in approving these applications, monitors and reviews the quality of
approved projects;
-
To provide support to creative sectors other than film, design and digital entertainment;
-
To organize promotion events and activities as well as special projects in support of the creative industries;
-
To facilitate talent development initiatives; and
-
To administer relevant schemes.

Short Video Programme 2016 – “Dream High”

20 emerging creative talent who participated in the programmes organised or sponsored by CreateHK, including Director WONG Chun of Mad World, Director CHAN Chi Fat of Weeds on Fire, Director CHEUNG King Wai of OPUS 1, Singer-Songwriter J. Arie (winner of “Super Nova Award” and “Popular Performer Award of Hong Kong Asian-Pop Music Festival 2014), Comics Artists Bigsoil, Mandycat and KEUNG Chi Kit, and others, share in short videos how these programmes have helped them develop their careers or broaden their horizons.

CSI aims to provide financial support to initiatives that are conducive to the development and promotion of the creative industries which are not covered by the Film Development Fund , the Film Guarantee Fund The Innovation and Technology Fund, the Arts Development Fund (Cultural Exchange Project), and/or the Grants of Hong Kong Arts Development Council, and which will not receive funding from other Government sources.
